Here's a good clip from the Doctor Who Movie I wrote and co-produced back in 1996. It was a hard challenge telling what are normally 6 hour long stories in one TV feature AND introducing the Doctor to an American audience, who for the most part had no idea who the doctor was ... It was basically "Doctor Who Am I" ... McGann did a lovely job, and Geoffrey Sax directed it with a real sense of joy, and Eric Roberts who had always wanted to play pantomime got his chance as he "camped up" the Master.

My 20 year old daughter is a Doctor Who fan (like her old man) since the new series started in 2005 (and even hid behind the sofa (well, chair). She's never really been able to manage watching the 'classic' series though (despite a few attempts on my part), but after she'd seen the mini-episode featuring the brilliant return of the 8th Doctor, I thought I'd try her out with your movie, as I thought it would be more accessible to a 21st-century-series-only-watcher. And it was. From the opening credits (she, like me, loved that version of the theme) to the end she was hooked, giving it all her attention (unlike a couple of weeks ago when she was buried in her laptop while we tried The Pyramids of Mars!). I've been a fan of Paul's portrayal of the Doctor, then and now, and he now has a new fan in my daughter! :-) Well done!

Thank you so much Mark! Paul really did bridge the gap in so many ways ... I'm starting to feel older by the second! :) No worries I wear my baldness with pride.
